About Matt
I grew up with an interest in art and computers. I started painting with acrylics in 1998. Eventually I switched to using a computer drawing tablet. Since then I have been working on a set of ten digital paintings.
I am also in the process of re-creating some of my older works with digital tools. The theme of most of my artwork is exploration of the imagination. My paintings are a mix of familiar images and abstract brush strokes. I focus on giving each painting it's own unique look and feel. I spend a lot of time refining my paintings to create solid well defined scenes. Painting is a way for me to share my imagination with the world. My goal is to make paintings that are entertaining and engaging.
The Digital Paintings Gallery contains my most ambitious artworks. These paintings are highly detailed complete scenes. I spend a lot of time making sure each one has a unique look and feel. These paintings are made to be printed up to 6 feet wide or larger without losing quality. Most of the paintings in this gallery take several months to complete.
The Digital Drawings Gallery contains digital art that I creating by drawing an outline and coloring it in. Many of my drawings are conversions of old sketches and paintings. I usually spend about 3 weeks doing the line work and a couple more weeks coloring.
The Traditional Paintings Gallery holds many of my oil and acrylic artworks. Many of the paintings in this gallery were made more than 3 years ago. I don't work with oil and acrylic much anymore. I mainly use these paintings as inspiration for new digital artworks. The Traditional gallery also contains some of my very first paintings. I originally began painting with acrylics around 1998.
The Sculpture Gallery contains ceramic, wood, and
metal artwork. My main focus is painting and so far I have only dabbled in 3D art. Most of my 3D work was done in college.
