Art prize was wonderful. I am allready thinking about what I can make for the event next year. Currently I'm working on adding more paintings into the new digital mini gallery. I will also be working on a few freelance projects in the future.

I've got everything ready for Artprize. My painting Strange Flight is on display at Pub 43 in downtown Grand Rapids. Artprize runs from Sep 22 - Oct 10. Voting is open to anyone who attends ArtPrize. I've been doing a few other things besides getting ready for ArtPrize. I changed my website around a bit. I added a new gallery "Digital Mini Paintings" for paintings that I spend less then a few weeks creating. I also added a page with articles about how I create my artwork.

A big event called ArtPrize is coming up. ArtPrize is a contest held in Grand Rapids, Michigan that lets the public decide the winners. Only people who attend the event can vote. Each artist is paired with a different venue. I will have my digital painting Strange Flight on display at Pub 43, located on 43 S Division Ave. I'm looking forward to seeing all the artwork on display. I am currently working on making all of my digital paintings high resolution for printing. I am also adding white borders to all of them so they are easier to mat and frame. I just finished updating Teddy Bear!

I will have artwork on display in the Lake Michigan Art Walk July 8th and 9th. The Art Walk will be located at the Frauenthal Center in downtown Muskegon.

I have been working on a new series of paintings called "Radical People". Several paintings from the new series will be in the "Earth and Lightyears" show at Gallery Uptown. A few of my digital paintings will also be on display.

My artwork will be in an upcoming show at Gallery Uptown in Grand Haven, MI. The show is titled "Earth and Lightyears". The show will run from July 1 through July 31.

I often get asked how I make digital paintings. I have written an article titled "The Making of: Strange Flight" to show how I create a painting from start to finish.

I received a purchase award for Strange Flight at the 82nd Regional Exhibition! Strange flight was one of 15 works selected for a purchase award out of 145 artworks in the exhibition.

Strange Flight was accepted into the 82nd Regional Exhibition at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Out of 622 entries only 145 were selected. The show runs from may 27 to August 25. Here is a link to the Museum Website

I submitted an entry to Talenthouse Creative Invite competition. The top 30 submissions will be judged by Dan Cameron, the founder and artistic director of U.S. Biennial. "Prospect. 1. New Orleans". Selected artist's work will be included in a satellite exhibition that will run parallel to the U.S. Biennial. "Prospect. 2. New Orleans"

Today I stopped by Ryke's Bakery where my art is on display, here is a picture!

I have decided to remove the prints of my traditional paintings from the online store. However I plan to make digital versions of some of my traditional paintings to sell as prints. The digital versions will let me re-imagine some of my old paintings and they will translate better to print. In addition I am also considering getting some of my paintings professionally scanned.

Currently I am working on finishing my digital paintings. Right now I am working on Grow to the Light. My goal is to get all of the digital paintings to a level of clarity that will look good when printed at 4 x 6 feet.

I made a few minor changes to the website. I merged the "New" and "old" galleries into one button "Traditional" in the left hand menu. I updated the Buy Art, Resume, and About pages. I changed the look of the online store.

I entered two paintings in the Gallery Uptown Winter Art Festival. Gallery Uptown is an art gallery in Grand Haven, MI. Both of my paintings were accepted into the show and Strange Flight received an honorable mention. See my Events page for directions and dates.
